More information
Schluter-SCHIENE
Schluter-SCHIENE is an extruded profile that finishes and protects the edges of tiled coverings, but can be used with other surfacing materials as well. The special sweepback design of the profile allows the transmission of applied point loads throughout the floor assembly. As a result, the tile edges are effectively protected against damage. The large perforations solidly anchor the profile in the setting material, integrating the profile with the floor assembly. The Schluter-SCHIENE is available in solid brass, aluminum, and stainless steel. The height of the profile is selected to match the thickness of the tile. Schluter-SCHIENE is available in solid brass (M), mill-finished aluminum (A), clear-satin anodized aluminum (AE) and stainless steel (E).

Schluter-RENO
Schluter-RENO-U is a protective edge trim that provides a sloped transition from a higher tiled covering to an adjoining lower surface. Schluter-RENO-U, in solid brass, is ideal for areas subjected to heavy loads, including vehicular traffic (car dealer showrooms, warehouses, shopping centers, etc.).

Schluter-RENO-TK provides a sloped transition between higher tiled surfaces and lower neighboring floor coverings. The channel beneath the sloped flange of the RENO-TK hides and protects the cut edge of adjoining surface coverings (carpet, VCT tile, etc.), while the vertical section protects the tile edge. Schluter-RENO-UK provides a sloped transition between lower tiled surfaces and higher neighboring floor coverings (for example, door sills). The profile protects both the edge of the tile, which can be concealed beneath the sloped flange, and the adjacent floor covering.

Schluter-RENO-T is a protective profile that provides a smooth transition between adjoining surfaces and can be applied subsequently to their installation. RENO-T hides and protects the edges of both surfaces. Fill the joint between the two surfaces with elastomeric sealant and insert the anchoring leg of RENO-T.

Schluter-DECO
Schluter-DECO provides a decorative and protective edge for the finishing of tiled surfaces. The ¼" (6mm)-wide visible surface of Schluter-DECO is also suitable for even transitions to other flooring materials, such as carpet, wood or other hard surfaces.

Schluter-TREP
Schluter-TREP-T/-MT is a slip resistant, stair nosing designed for light traffic areas. The profile is made of rigid PVC with a soft, non-slip PVC wear surface. The increased visual perception and the soft non-slip, non-replaceable PVC wear surface reduce the risk of accidents.

Schluter-TREP-S/B is an aluminum, slip resistant, stair nosing designed for heavy traffic areas. The Schluter-TREP-S/B has an aluminum support section and a replaceable, thermoplastic rubber tread.

Schluter-REMA
Schluter-REMA is a system that is ideal for creating concealed tiled panels. The system, consisting of four magnets and four backplates, allows access to electrical or plumbing components without impairing the visual appearance of the tile covering. Schluter-REMA is independent of tile size and thickness. The perimeter joint of the access panel may be caulked.

Schluter-DILEX
Schluter-DILEX-HK is a cove-base movement profile that conforms to the hygienic requirements of commercial bathrooms, kitchens and food processing plants The soft zone, made of CPE, absorbs differential movement between the wall and the floor and prevents sound bridges. DILEX-HK features a pocket that hides the cut edge of the tile.

Schluter-DILEX-HKW is a sanitary cove base that can be used for inside wall corners and for floor-wall connections where tile are of the same thickness. DILEX-HKW is made from recycled rigid PVC and offers limited movement absorption.

Schluter-DILEX-EK is a two-part corner profile made of recycled rigid PVC and soft CPE, with a flexible tongue-and-groove connection that is designed to absorb large differential movement. DILEX-EK absorbs vertical movements up to 3/8" (10mm) which may be encountered in floating screeds or floor heating systems. DILEX-EK also prevents sound bridges. The cut tile edges are concealed in the pocket of the profile.

Schluter-DILEX-EKE is a corner movement profile made of recycled rigid PVC and soft CPE that effectively absorbs movement at inside wall corners and floor-wall transitions. The 3/16" (4mm)-wide movement zone becomes the visible surface, creating a uniform and discrete joint appearance that matches common joint widths.

Schluter-DILEX-EP is a 3/8" (10mm)-wide movement profile for the mortar bed. The side flanges anchor the profile to the screed. The upper and the lower section of the profile feature a soft CPE movement zone capable of absorbing the compressional, tensile and shear stresses within the mortar bed. The top edge of the DILEX-EP profile is an ideal screeding guide and is available in several sizes to match the thickness of the mortar bed.

Schluter-DILEX-KS is a 9/16" (15mm)-wide movement joint that features a thermoplastic movement zone and opposing metal profiles. DILEX-KS, with its solid edge protection, is suitable for extra-heavy-duty commercial or industrial applications, including vehicular traffic. The thermoplastic movement zone can be replaced, if necessary.

Schluter-DILEX-BWB is a surface movement profile for tile coverings, which aligns directly over the existing movement joint in the substrate. The anchoring legs and side sections of the profile are made from recycled rigid PVC. The upper movement zone, made of soft CPE, is 3/8" (10mm)-wide and matches common joint widths. The DILEX-BWB effectively absorbs compressional, tensile, and shear stresses and is suitable for interior/exterior wall and floor coverings in areas subjected to heavy pedestrian traffic or moderate mechanical loads (for example, shopping carts).

Schluter-DILEX-BWS is a surface movement profile made of recycled rigid PCV and soft CPE. Movement joints, used in tile coverings, must be aligned directly over movement joints in the substrate. The soft CPE movement zone absorbs compressional, tensile, and shear stresses proportionate to its narrow (3/16" - 5mm) width and provides a visible surface that matches common joint widths. DILEX-BWS is suitable for wall and floor coverings in interior/exterior applications with moderate mechanical exposure (for example, shopping carts).

Schluter-DILEX-MP creates a ¼" (6mm)-wide movement joint through the mortar bed and the finished surface. The side sections are made from recycled rigid PVC and feature dove-tailed anchoring ribs, while the movement zone is constructed of soft CPE. DILEX-MP features snap-on extensions (MPV) for height adjustments to match the thickness of the mortar bed and tile surface. It is especially ideal for the creation of expansion joints and used to repair failed control joints. As with other DILEX movement profiles, the soft CPE central section absorbs movement in the floor, eliminating cracks.

Schluter-DILEX-MOP is a movement joint for the mortar bed. It is constructed of recycled rigid and soft PVC. Unlike the other DILEX mortar bed profiles (MP and EZ), the height of the DILEX-MOP is not adjustable; it is designed to fit the total height of the mortar bed and tile surface. The central movement zone, located between the exposed upper edges of the side walls, may have slight color variations. The function and application of DILEX-MOP, including its use in saw-cut joints and failed control joints, are the same as those of DILEX-MP.

Schluter-DILEX-EX 70 is a movement joint used for mortar bed applications. It features detachable tubes to accommodate the thickness of the mortar bed and tile surface. The side walls of the DILEX-EZ 70 are made of rigid PVC and feature dove-tailed ribs for anchoring the profile to the mortar bed. The movement zone, made of soft CPE, overlays the top edges of the rigid walls. The profile is also available with a decorative brass of chrome foil that is protected with transparent PVC.

Schluter-DILEX-EX 6 and 9 combine decorative design with stress-relieving function. They are suitable for thin-bed application and feature two, differently colored, usable surfaces (for example, BW/GS). The side sections of the DILEX-EX 6 and 9 are formed in the shape of an hourglass and are ribbed to enhance mechanical adhesion. The colors coordinate with Schluter-JOLLY and Schluter-RONDEC. The product is also available with a decorative brass of chrome foil which is covered with a transparent film for protection.

Schluter-DILEX-BWA is a movement profile made of recycled rigid PVC and soft CPE that provides a flexible connection to existing construction elements, such as windows, door frames, thresholds, etc. Epoxy resin adhesive or similar can be used to bond the dove-tailed channel of the profile to the existing structure. The lower soft zone is slit to maximize the absorption of tensile stresses.

Schluter-DILEX-AS is a joining profile for connecting tiled surfaces to fixtures such as baths, showers, and door and windows frames. The joining lip, made of soft PVC can be adhered to the fixture with the self-adhesive tape. The DILEX-AS, by itself, does no replace waterproofing. The DILEX-AS features a hinge design that results in a permanently flexible joint.

Schluter-JOLLY
Schluter-JOLLY is a profile that protects the outside corners of tiled wall surfaces against damage. JOLLY is available in PVC, anodized aluminum, and color-coated aluminum. The asymmetrical cross-section of the profile is the same as that of Schluter-SCHIENE (Note: for edges which are exposed to severe mechanical stress, use Schluter-SCHIENE in brass or stainless steel.). The metal versions of the Schluter-JOLLY are also color stable in exterior applications. The range of available sizes and finishes permits the matching of the profile to a wide variety of tile and grout colors, thus providing many design opportunities.

Schluter-RONDEC
Schluter-RONDEC is a profile that protects the outside corners of tiled surfaces against damage. The reveal of the profile produces a uniformly rounded edge to give a symmetrical appearance to corners. It is particularly suitable for finishing ceramic tile edges (for example, backsplashes, countertops, shelves, etc.) or marble edges (baseboards, fireplace openings, etc.). Schluter-RONDEC is available in color-coated and anodized aluminum, PVC, and stainless steel. The metal versions of RONDEC are also color-stable in exterior applications. The range of available sizes and finishes permits the matching of the profile to a wide variety of tile and grout colors. Note: where extreme mechanical stresses are anticipated, use RONDEC in stainless steel.

Schluter-DESIGN Profiles
Schluter-DESIGNLINE-DL and Schluter-RONDEC-DP are PVC profiles that are characterized by a decorative laminated foil. The DESIGNLINE-DL is a 1"(25mm)-wide decorative listello that is ¼" (6mm) deep. It can be used with any thickness of tile by building up the setting material behind the profile. The DESIGNLINE-DL and RONDEC-DP profiles are designed to coordinate with each other and add a decorative touch to any tile installation. The profiles should not be exposed to abrasion.

Schluter-DITRA
Schluter-DITRA is an uncoupling, supporting, and waterproofing membrane that is ideal for any tile installation, and is particularly suited for problematic substrates on walls and floors, including gypsum, wood, metal, and green concrete. Any substrate, however, should be even and load-bearing. Schluter-DITRA is a corrugated polyethylene membrane with a support webbing laminated to its underside. The corrugated ribs are cut back in a dove-tail configuration, providing a mechanical bond to the tile. The support webbing on the underside provides a mechanical bond to the substrate. The side edges of the membrane are flat and allow for overlapping. The uncoupling characteristics of the Schluter-DITRA prevents stresses in the substrate (due to thermal deformation, shrinkage, settling, and deflection) from being transmitted to the tile surface. In addition, the special ribbed structure provides air channels between the membrane and the substrate, permitting ventilation of the substrate.
